I started with torch firing, melting the glass from beneath the metal, but soon graduated to kiln firing for more precision and an even temperature. While more time-consuming, the kiln provides a superior finish, though I still use a torch for the rustic charm often seen in my autumn leaves and berry designs. It's truly enchanting to layer colours and place transparent enamels over solid bases, creating depth and luminosity that's simply spellbinding.
